THE WINKEL POND TRAIL

Location: Find this trail .1 mile east of the Route 80/81 circle, between the white office building and the Country Squire Restaurant. You may park by the “Reduce Speed” sign, on the north side of Route 80.

Length/Difficulty: The trail is 2686 feet long, or about 1/2 mile. This is a good family hike, with little climbing.

Trail Description: This trail is blazed with blue. It is a loop around a pond/wetland area, which can be done clockwise or counterclockwise. You will cross a boardwalk, an old earthen dam, cross a stream and pass a cave area. The trail can be very wet after rainy periods! The trail and signboard were originally an Eagle Scout project.

Restrictions: No motorized vehicles at any time. The trail is not appropriate for horseback riding, due to boardwalk and narrow pathways.
